The Broken Bow Spirit 18U softball team faced the Jr. Belles 18U on the road Thursday night for a doubleheader.
The Spirit jumped out quickly in game one scoring four runs in their first at bat. However, Broken Bow was held scoreless the rest of the way as the Jr. Belles scored a run in the bottom of the first, a run in the second, and then four more in the fourth inning to come back for a 6-4 win. Lily Thornton was 1 for 2 with a double, a run scored and one RBI. Ida Bumgarner was 1 for 2 with an RBI and Ruby Russell finished 1 for 3.
In game two, Broken Bow was unable to generate any offense and the Jr. Belles used and eight run third inning to help secure a 13-0 win.
