The Broken Bow American Legion baseball teams made road trips to Imperial and St. Paul over the weekend.
On Saturday, Broken Bow faced Imperial for a juniors and seniors doubleheader. The Bow Juniors defeated Imperial 10-5. Max Denson had a big game offensively finishing 4 for 4 with 3 runs scored and 1 RBI which came on a solo home run in the first inning. Tate Thornton was 3 for 3 in the game with 2 RBI. Brice Chaplin and Kayden Record also had multi hit games for the Bow juniors. Chaplin drove in a team high 3 runs and Record finished with a run scored and 1 run batted in. The Bow seniors came up short against Imperial on Saturday. Imperial jumped out to a 3-0 lead after three innings but Broken Bow came back to take the lead with a 6 run third inning. The lead was short lived however as Imperial scored 8 runs in the bottom of the third on their way to a 12-10 win. Brice Chaplin finished 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBI. Eli Coble also had a multi hit game going 2 for 4 with 2 runs batted in. Coy Wardyn hit a home run in the third inning.
On Sunday, Broken Bow faced St. Paul for a juniors and seniors doubleheader. The juniors collected their 8th win of the season by edging St. Paul 10-8. Broken Bow had a five run 4th inning to help key the victory. Owen Hartman had the lone multi hit game for Bow going 2 for 4 with 1 run scored and 2 RBI. Max Denson, Brice Chaplin, and Tate Thornton all finished with 2 RBI. St. Paul used a 12 run fourth inning to pull away in the seniors game for a 19-11 win. Gavin Goodner had a multi hit game finishing 2 for 5 with 3 runs scored and 1 RBI. Brice Chaplin finished 2 for 3 with 1 run scored and 3 RBI.
Broken Bow will travel to Gothenburg for a juniors and seniors doubleheader on Tuesday. The seniors game will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com with coverage beginning around 8 p.m.
