Broken Bow Legion Baseball Juniors and Seniors Split Doubleheader at Minden

The Broken Bow juniors and seniors baseball teams traveled to Minden to finish and make up games that were postponed due to weather back on June 25th.  The juniors game picked up in the fourth inning with Broken Bow leading 8-3.  As play resumed, Minden scored three runs in the fifth and three more in the sixth to take a 9-8 lead.  Broken Bow was able to respond with two runs in the top of the 7th and hang on for a 10-9 win.  Caenyn Priest and Jackson Hall each finished with a multi-hit performance in the final stats for the full complete game.  Priest finished 2 for 3 with 2 RBI and Hall was 2 for 4 with a run scored and 1 RBI.  With the win, the juniors improve to 13-7.

The Bow seniors suffered their first league loss of the year in a wild extra inning game.  Bow trailed 10-7 after six innings but scored four runs in the top of the 7th to take an 11-10 lead.  Broken Bow had three doubles in the seventh inning that were key.  Kayden Record began the inning with a double and later Carter Hall and Max Denson would each deliver with a two out, two RBI double. However, Minden was able to tie the game in the bottom of the 7th thanks to a two out RBI single from Luke Grollmes.  In extras, Broken Bow took the lead with a run in the top of the 8th, but Minden scored two runs in the bottom of the inning to claim a walk off win.  The Bow seniors will host McCook Wednesday night at Paul Brown Field for a doubleheader with the Mid Nebraska League West Division title on the line.  Game one is scheduled for 5:30 with coverage on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com.
