The Broken Bow juniors and seniors each picked up wins Monday over Ravenna in American Legion baseball. The Bow juniors held on for a 7-6 win to collect their first win of the season. Bow led 7-2 after six innings but Ravenna rallied in the 7th inning scoring four runs only to fall one run short in their comeback bid. Kayden Record was the winning pitcher with his performance highlighted by 10 strikeouts. Brice Chaplin was 1 for 2 at the plate with a triple and 2 RBI. The Bow juniors are now 1-1 on the season.
The Broken Bow seniors collected its first official win of the season as they pulled away from Ravenna late for a 14-6 win. Broken Bow fell behind 4-0 after one inning but fought back and scored 8 unanswered runs to lead 8-4 after four innings. Ravenna scored two runs in the fifth to make the score 8-6 going into the sixth inning. In the bottom of the sixth, Broken Bow put the game away as they batted through the order and scored six runs to end the game by the 8 run rule. Brice Chaplin helped lead the offense finishing 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored and 3 RBI. Gavin Goodner, Caden Holm, Zach Loy, Coy Wardyn, and Owen Hartman also had multi hit games for the Bow seniors.
The Broken Bow seniors will head out to Plattsmouth for the wood bat tournament this weekend.
