Broken Bow Hosts Nebraska High School Rodeo Event

Broken Bow and the Custer County Fairgrounds was host to the Nebraska High School Rodeo for performances on Saturday and Sunday. Emma Pearson of Broken Bow was the girls all around champion on Saturday. Pearson’s day was highlighted by winning the girls cutting with a score of 71. Pearson was runner-up in the barrel racing Saturday with a time of 15.625. Other area highlights on Saturday included Anna Clark of Thedford winning the barrel racing with a winning time of 15:503 seconds. Sid Miller of Merna was tops in the tie down roping Saturday with a winning time of 10.79 seconds. Jason Ducker Kursave of Arcadia had the only qualified ride in bull riding Saturday winning the event with a 55. On Sunday, Whitney Jennings of Seneca won the breakaway roping with a winning time of 2.34 seconds and Jason Ducker Kursave of Arcadia had the top score in the bull riding on Sunday with a 72. Gracie Pearson of Broken Bow won the girls cutting on Sunday with a winning score of 72 and Kaleb Hurt of Callaway was champion in the saddle broncs putting together the only qualified ride of the day and winning the event with a 54.
