The Broken Bow American Legion juniors and seniors baseball teams dropped both games of a doubleheader to Lexington Thursday night.
The Bow juniors lost a high scoring affair to Lexington. The teams combined for 22 runs on only nine combined hits. Broken Bow was charged with 8 errors in the game and Lexington committed 3. Lex jumped out to a 9-3 lead after three innings. Broken Bow scored four runs in the fourth inning to climb to within two but Lex answered with four runs of their own in the bottom of the inning and held on to win by a final of 13-9. Brice Chaplin and Caedmon Jensen each drove in two runs to help pace the Bow offense. With the loss, the Bow juniors drop to 1-3 on the season.
Lexington pulled away late to defeat the Bow seniors Thursday night. Bow took the lead early with two runs in the top of the first. The score remained 2-0 until Lex scored 4 runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead. Bow then tied the game with two runs in the top of the sixth but Lexington would put the game away in the bottom of the sixth scoring 7 runs on their way to an 11-4 win. Broken Bow finished with just two hits for the game. Brice Chaplin was 1 for 3 with a double, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI. Owen Hartman was 1 for 3 with 2 RBI.
