Broken Bow Finishes 1-2 at Junior Legion Tournament During Weekend

The Broken Bow American Legion Juniors baseball team is hosting a four team tournament this weekend at Paul Brown Field.  Broken Bow opened play in the tournament Friday evening hosting Bermis (Bertrand/Loomis).  Bermis shutout Broken Bow 6-0.  The Bow juniors were held to just four hits in the game.  Caenyn Priest was 1 for 2 with a double.  Also collecting a hit for Broken Bow were Jackson Hall, Aiden Page, and Landon Lindly.

Broken Bow was edged by DCB (Dannebrog/Cairo/Boelus) on Saturday 4-3.  DCB outhit Broken Bow 4-3 and each team committed two errors.  The Bow juniors led 3-1 after four innings but DCB scored a run in the fifth and two in the sixth to come back for the win.  Caenyn Priest pitched well for Broken Bow in the start going 4 1/3 innings giving up two runs on three hits and striking out six.  Jackson Hall hit a two-run homer for the Bow juniors in the first inning.

Broken Bow bounced back and won their final game of the tournament on Sunday holding off St. Paul 5-1.  Jackson Hall pitched a complete game for the Bow juniors.  Hall gave up just one run on two hits and struck out seven to pick up the win.  Six different players collected a hit for Broken Bow including Hall who drove in a run with a double.  Others collecting a hit in the win were Carter Hall, Caenyn Priest, Drew Ellis, Aiden Page, and Landon Lindly.

The Bow juniors will next play at Gothenburg on Tuesday.
