The Broken Bow athletic booster club will host its annual fall sports kickoff tonight at Kinkaider Brewing Co. The event is scheduled to begin at 5:30. Tonight’s event will feature the introduction of this year’s Broken Bow fall sports teams including girls golf, cross country, volleyball and football as well as this year’s cheer squad. KCNI/KBBN sports director Brent Apperson will serve as the emcee of tonight’s event and will be visiting with coaches and players. Tonight’s event will also be broadcast live on KBBN 95.3 FM. On Friday, booster club members Brent Kirkpatrick and Tammy Chapin visited with KCNI/KBBN about this year’s event. Kirkpatrick announced that they will be auctioning off the suites at Mark Russell Field for Broken Bow’s first two home football games.
All Broken Bow fall sports teams will begin their seasons this week. The two time defending Class C state champion girls golf team will play at the Kearney Catholic Invite at Meadowlark Hills Golf Course in Kearney on Thursday. The Broken Bow cross country team will compete at Sutherland on Saturday. The Broken Bow volleyball team travels to Hershey Thursday to begin its season. The varsity match will be broadcast on KCNI 1280 AM / 96.3 FM with a special live video stream, accompanied by the radio call, available on the Sandhills Express facebook page and You Tube channel. The Broken Bow football team will kickoff its season on the road Friday when they travel to Albion to face preseason top ten ranked Boone Central. All Broken Bow football games this season will once again be broadcast on KCNI 1280 AM / 96.3 FM and kcni1280.com.
