Broken Bow Claims District Runner-up Trophy at C-1 District Wrestling – Qualify 7 for State

The Broken Bow wrestling team competed at the C-1 district wrestling tournament in Malcolm on Saturday. Broken Bow finished as the team runner up with 159 points behind team champion Battle Creek who won the district team title with 215.5 points. The Indians finished with two district champions and qualified seven wrestlers for the state tournament next week in Omaha. The Indians advanced four wrestlers to
the finals of their weight class. Cash Watson was district champion at 138 lbs. and Cal Wells claimed the district title at 215 lbs.  Braxon Rynearson was district runner-up at 144 lbs. and Cobe Wells was district runner up at 150 lbs. Also qualifying for state, finishing
in the top four of their weight class, were Bowen Ridder third at 106 lbs., Kelstyn Lindner third at 113 lbs., and Aidan Markham was third at 157 lbs. The NSAA state wrestling championships will take place February 20th, 21st and 22nd at the CHI Health Center in Omaha.
