The Broken Bow Athletic Booster Club will host its annual “Winter Sports Tip Off” event tonight at Kinkaider Brewing Co. in Broken Bow. Booster club member Brent Kirkpatrick took time to visit with KCNI/KBBN radio about the booster club’s mission and tonight’s event. Kirkpatrick thanked and praised the support the athletic booster club receives from the community.
“First, we just want to thank all the donors. We get lots of great support from the community. Lot’s of things we try to help out with. We wouldn’t be here without all the donors to do all of that stuff for us and to get it going for us. The way I think of it is we’re just their hand. We hear a lot of things from the owners we’d like to see done and we work with the school to and if there are some things that are outside their budget and what they can kind of do then that’s where we kind of pick up the slack. That’s what it’s all bout as I’ve kind of come to learn since I’ve been on the booster club. What can we do to help to support all of our athletes in these activities that we see all of these kids kind of succeed at and how can we keep on generating more enthusiasm or just excitement around that stuff and it’s just a lot of fun.”
Tonight’s event will feature live interviews and discussion with the 2023/24 Broken Bow winter sports teams. The Broken Bow girls basketball program will be featured first at 6:30 followed by the cheer squad, then boys basketball, and conclude with the Broken Bow wrestling program. The event will also be broadcast live on KBBN 95.3 FM and on kbbn.com.
A taco bar will be available at a cost of $8.
