Broken Bow was among the teams that competed at the B-6 district track and field championships held at Alliance on Tuesday. The top three in each individual event and top two places in each relay event automatically qualified for the state tournament. The NSAA Class B state track and field championships are scheduled for May 20th and 21st at Burke Stadium in Omaha.
Broken Bow had a big day in the boys throwing events. Drew Ellis was the district champion in both the boys discus and shot put. Ellis qualified for state with a winning throw of 159′ 11″ in the discus and qualified in the shot put with a winning effort of 56′ 6″. Broken Bow freshman Aiden Page qualified for state in the shot put placing second with an effort of 47′ 11″. Broken Bow’s Gunner Baltz qualified for state in the boys discus. Baltz placed third in the district with a throw of 147′ 11″.
Broken Bow’s Charlee Myers qualified for state in the girls pole vault. Myers was the district runner-up clearing 10′ 6″ to qualify.

McKenna Jacobsen – 4th in girls pole vault (9’6″)
Baylee Clark – 5th in girls 400 (1:03.63)
Ashlyn Schauda – 5th in girls 1600 (6:01.64)
Ida Bumgarner – 6th in girls shot put (36′ 1.75″)
Girls 4×100 relay – 6th (Brielle Hamel-Evans, McKenna Jacobsen, Bayley Clark, Bailey Faltys) 51.83
Boys 4×100 relay – 6th (Braxton Eggleston, Dominic Nowak, Aidan Markham, Ayden Clark) 45.16
