The sixth Nebraska Girls Basketball Showcase took place Saturday at Kearney High School. The Broken Bow Lady Indians faced C1 top ten Fort Calhoun in game #5 of the showcase. Fort Calhoun led 24-20 at halftime but was able to methodically pull away in the second half for a 50-38 win. Seven players scored for Broken Bow led by Charlee Myers who knocked down three 3’s in the game and finished with a team high 16 points. Ansley Elofson of Fort Calhoun was chosen as the player of the game leading Fort Calhoun in scoring with 16 points. Broken Bow is now 8-5 on the season.

The Mullen Lady Broncos faced Arapahoe in the opening game of the showcase on Saturday. Arapahoe jumped out early outscoring Mullen 26-8 in the first quarter. Mullen played even with Arapahoe the rest of the way getting as close as twelve on different occasions but the opening quarter deficit was too much to overcome as Arapahoe collected a 69-49 victory. Mullen had three players score in double figures led by Brynne McCully who scored a team high 17 points. Hayley Donohoe and Jenna Donohoe each scored 11 for Mullen who fell to 6-4 on the season.
