Broken Bow and Cozad Tie for SWC Wrestling Team Championship

Cozad hosted the Southwest Conference wrestling championships on Thursday.  It was a thrilling team race between Cozad and Broken Bow that went down to the final match of the day.  Broken Bow trailed Cozad in the team standings entering the final round which included the championship and 3rd place matches.  The Indians were able to come back and in the end force a tie at the top as both Broken Bow and Cozad ended with 197 points to share the conference team championship.

Broken Bow advanced nine wrestlers into the finals of their weight class and had six conference champions.  Placing first in their weight class for Broken Bow were Chauncey Watson at 120 lbs., Braxon Rynearson at 138, Brycen Woodward at 165, Brice Chaplin at 175, Max Denson at 190 and Cal Wells at 215.  Finishing runner up in their weight class were Emmett Palmer at 106 lbs., William Moninger at 150, and Dakota Baum at 157.  Cobe Wells of Broken Bow placed 3rd at 126 lbs.
