Broken Bow and Anselmo-Merna Compete at Buffalo Bill Track Meet

Broken Bow and Anselmo-Merna were among the teams that competed at the Buffalo Bill Track Meet in North Platte on Thursday. North Platte won the boys team title and Kearney won the girls team championship. Broken Bow finished in the top five in the boys standings placing 5th.

For Broken Bow, it was their first competition of the season as previous meets at Aurora and Grand Island were either postponed or cancelled.  Some of the highlights for the Indians included Max Denson winning the boys shot put with an effort of 54’2″. Denson was runner up in the discus with an effort of 153′. Coy Wardyn was the champion in the boys pole vault clearing 13′ 1″. Eli Coble placed second in the boys long jump with an effort of 20′ 8.75″.  Klarissa Dowdy was runner up in the girls 300 meter hurdles with a time of 49.79 seconds. Broken Bow was second in the girls 4×800 meter relay.  The team of Ashlyn Schauda, Halle Quinn, Rylie Wistisen, and Maren Chapin posted a time of 10:23.7. Cruze Safranek was third in the boys 100 and 4th in the 200. Taylor Schaaf placed third in the girls discus. Other top six performances for Broken Bow included:
4th in the girls 4×400 meter relay
5th in the boys 4×800 meter relay
5th in the girls 4×100 meter relay
6th in the boys 4×400 meter relay
Maren Chapin 4th in the girls 400
Keelyn Shea 5th in the girls shot put
Evan Cyboron 6th in the boys shot put
Klarissa Dowdy 6th in girls high jump

Top performances for Anselmo-Merna came in the hurdles where Caenyn Priest finished 5th in the boys 300 meter hurdles and was 6th in the 110 meter hurdles. Shayleigh Coleman placed 4th in the girls 300 meter hurdles.
Other top six performances for AM included:
6th in the boys 4×100 meter relay
5th in the boys 4×400 meter relay
Colin Wright 6th in the boys high jump
