Broken Bow American Legion Seniors Win in Opening Round of Centennial Classic

The Broken Bow American Legion Seniors are in Milbank, SD this weekend for the American Legion Baseball Centennial Classic to help celebrate the 100th anniversary of American Legion Baseball. Broken Bow defeated the host team Milbank in the opening round of the tournament. The Bow seniors were impressive with an 11-0 shutout win. Coy Wardyn and Kayden Record combined for a one hit shutout. Wardyn pitched 3 1/3 innings giving up one hit and striking out four. Record threw 1 2/3 innings of no hit relief striking out five. Max Denson was 3 for 3 at the plate with 2 runs scored and 3 RBI. Xach Lowry also had a multi-hit game going 2 for 3 with a run scored and one RBI.  Broken Bow advances to the winner’s bracket game of the four team tournament and will play Minnesota at 2:30 Saturday afternoon.
