Broken Bow hosted St. Paul in an American Legion baseball doubleheader on Sunday at Paul Brown Field.
The Bow juniors suffered their fourth loss of the season. St. Paul built a 6-2 lead after two innings. Broken Bow scored three runs in the third to climb to within a run but St. Paul would answer back with four runs in the fifth on their way to an 11-7 win. Brice Chaplin and Max Denson each had multi hit games. Chaplin was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI. Denson finished 2 for 2 with a triple, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.
The Broken Bow seniors snapped a five game losing streak with a 5-3 win over St. Paul. The game was tied at 3 all when Broken Bow’s Owen Hartman singled in two runs in the bottom of the fifth to give Broken Bow the lead and ultimately the win. Another offensive highlight for the Bow seniors came in their first at bat when Caden Holm hit a home run to put Broken Bow on the board first. Holm also started the game on the mound. Holm went three and two thirds innings giving up three runs but none of them earned. Carter Johnson closed out the game pitching three and one third innings of scoreless relief.
