Broken Bow American Legion Baseball Splits Doubleheader with Gering

Broken Bow hosted Gering Thursday for a juniors and seniors American Legion baseball doubleheader.

The Bow juniors collected their fifth win of the season.  Broken Bow jumped out early scoring four runs in each of the first two innings and added another run in the third to go up 9-1 on their way to a 12-5 victory.  Drew Ellis helped lead the offense finishing 2 for 5 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI.  Kayden Record also had a multi hit game going 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI.  Carter Hall and Xach Lowry each drove in 2 runs.

The Bow seniors suffered just their third loss of the season.  It was a close game throughout that went extra innings.  Bow trailed 5-3 after five innings but tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the sixth to force extra innings.  Gering scored a run in the top of the 8th and was able to hang on for a 6-5 win.  Eli Coble was 3 for 5 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI for the Bow seniors.  Brice Chaplin was 2 for 5 with 1 RBI and Owen Hartman also had a multi hit game finishing 2 for 3  with 1 RBI.  The Bow seniors are now 7-3 on the season.
