Boys Sub District basketball tournaments begin today around the state. Broken Bow will open play at the C1-8 sub district tournament in Holdrege tonight when they face Ord. The game is scheduled to tip off at 6 p.m. and will be broadcast on KCNI 96.3 FM / 1280 AM / kcni1280.com / Free KCNI Pure Country App. The winner will advance to play top seed Holdrege on Tuesday.
Arcadia/Loup City begins play tonight at the C2-8 sub district at Cross County. The Rebels will face Newman Grove / St. Edward with the winner advancing to play top seed Cross County on Tuesday. On the other side of the bracket, South Loup is the #3 seed and will play Sutton on Tuesday.
Gothenburg will begin play today at the C1-9 sub district at Fillmore Central. The Swedes will play St. Paul with the winner advancing to play top seed Fillmore Central on Tuesday.
The D2-7 sub district tournament will begin on Tuesday at Litchfield. Ansley/Litchfield is the top seed and will face Elba at 6 p.m. followed by SEM vs Anselmo-Merna at 7:30. The winners will advance to the sub district final on Thursday. All games from the D2-7 sub will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com. A live video stream of the games, accompanied by the radio call, will also be available through sandhillsexpress.com on the Sandhills Express Facebook page and Sandhills Express You Tube Channel.
Mullen and Sandhills/Thedford will both compete at the D2-9 sub district at Hyannis. The two will play each other on Tuesday with the winner advancing to play the winner of Hyannis vs. Arthur County.
Twin Loup is the #2 seed at the D1-6 sub district tournament which will be played at Central Valley high school in Greeley. Twin Loup will face Riverside on Tuesday with the winner advancing to Thursday’s final to meet the winner of Central Valley vs CWC.
Sandhills Valley is the #3 seed at the D1-11 sub district tournament hosted by top seed North Platte St. Pat’s. Sandhills Valley will face Paxton on Tuesday with the winner advancing out to play the winner of North Platte St. Pat’s vs Sutherland.
Cozad is the top seed at the C1-7 sub district tournament. Cozad will play Tuesday against the winner of today’s game between Minden and Gibbon.
