Boys Sub District Basketball Area Recap / District Final Preview

Ansley/Litchfield met South Loup for the D1-11 boys sub district championship Tuesday night in Ansley.  Ansley/Litchfield claimed the sub district title with a 44-26 win to improve to 19-3.  The Spartans were led by Luke Bailey who had a game high 20 points.  Ansley/Litchfield advances to the district finals where they will host Cambridge for the D1-3 district championship.  The game will take place Saturday in Litchfield with tip off scheduled for 5 p.m.  The game will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com.  A live video stream of the game will also be available on the Sandhills Express Facebook page and You Tube Channel.  South Loup was led by Trey Connell who finished with a team high eight points.  South Loup is now 16-5 on the season and has qualified for the district final round as a wildcard.  South Loup will host Plainview for the D1-8 district championship.  The game is scheduled for Tuesday in Callaway with tip off scheduled for 6 p.m.  The game will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com.  A live video stream of the game will also be available on the Sandhills Express Facebook page and You Tube Channel.

Anselmo-Merna is headed to a district final.  AM knocked off top seed Sandhills/Thedford 51-46 Tuesday night to claim the D2-9 sub district championship.  Anselmo-Merna will face Shelton for the D2-1 district championship on Tuesday in Shelton.  The game will be broadcast on KCNI 96.3 FM and kcni1280.com with tip off scheduled for 7 p.m.

SEM fell to top seed and #1 ranked Shelton at the D2-7 sub district tournament 73-55.  The Mustangs are now 16-7 on the season and qualified for the district final round as a wildcard.  SEM will host Lawrence Nelson for the D2-3 district championship on Saturday with tip off scheduled for 5 p.m.

At the C1-11 sub district tournament, Cozad upset top seed Ogallala 61-59 to advance to a district final.  Cozad will play in the C1-7 district final against Douglas County West.  The game will be played on Monday at Central City with tip off scheduled for 6 p.m.
