Twin Loup claimed the D1-10 sub-district championship with a 72-50 win over South Loup. South Loup trailed 37-26 at halftime but outscored Twin Loup 19-13 in the third quarter to make it a five point game entering the fourth. In the fourth quarter, Twin Loup was able to pull away outscoring South Loup 22-5 in the final eight minutes. Twin Loup’s Yahya Harris led all scorers with 28 points but it was Jackson Hall who gave the Wolves a big boost offensively finishing with 21 points. South Loup was led by Dylan Pandorf who finished with a team high 19 and Conner Paulsen also finished in double figures for the Bobcats with 11. Twin Loup collected its 21st win of the season and now advances to the Class D1 district finals. South Loup concludes its season at 10-13.
In other area boys sub-district basketball, SEM and Mullen both advanced to the Class D2 district final round. SEM claimed the D2-8 sub-district title with a 56-42 win over Medicine Valley and Mullen claimed the D2-12 sub-district championship with a 53-51 win over Cody-Kilgore.
Cozad advanced to the Class C1 district finals with a 64-53 win over Milford to win the C1-7 sub district championship. In the C1-8 sub district championship game, Doniphan-Trumbull knocked off Gothenburg 55-50.
