Boys State Wrestling Tournament – Day One – Class D Area Recap

The 2025 NSAA boys state wrestling championships began Thursday at the CHI Health Center in Omaha.  Classes A and D took the mats first with first round matches followed by the championship quarterfinals.

Those from the KCNI/KBBN coverage area who advanced out to the championship semifinals of their weight class included Dawson Mason of South Loup at 132 lbs., Maddox Jones of SEM at 175 lbs., and Wyatt Stieb of Arcadia/Loup City at 190 lbs.  Andy Cash of Ansley/Litchfield and Caden Zutavern of Sandhills/Thedford each qualified for the semifinals at 285 lbs.  Burwell advanced four wrestlers to the semifinal round.  They included Brody Jensen (113 lbs.),. Drew Dawe of Burwell (132 lbs.), Trentin Brown (157 lbs.), and Cale Buss (190 lbs.)  The championship semifinals will take place at 6 p.m. on Friday.

Full results of teams in the KCNI/KBBN coverage area are posted below.  Wrestling for Class D resumes Friday with first round consolation matches at 9:30 a.m.
