The NSAA boys state golf championships came to their conclusion on Wednesday. The Class D tournament took place at Lake Maloney Golf Club in North Platte.
The Class D individual champion was Gage Burns of Creighton who won the tournament with a low two day score of 7 over par 151. Colin Cooksley of Anselmo-Merna finished in the top 40 of the Class D individual standings. Cooksley shot an 84 on Tuesday and followed that up with a 91 on Wednesday for a two day total of 175 which was tied for 37th overall.
Brady Haake of Sandhills/Thedford finished with a final round of 91 for a two day total of 177 which was tied for 44th overall. Aaron Bartak of Anselmo-Merna followed up his 93 on day one with another 93 in the final round Wednesday for a two day total of 186.
Burwell qualified as a team for the Class D tournament. The Longhorns were led by Wryder Svoboda who finished with a two day total of 193. Right behind him was Augustus Elliott who finished with a two day total of 194. Other two day tournament scores for Burwell included: Landon Critel – 203, Devin Konicek – 216, and Titus Gideon – 223. Pender was the Class D team champion with Overton claiming the runner up trophy.
The Class C state championships were held at Elks Country Club in Columbus. Cole Kramer of Sandhills Valley finished in the top 40 of the Class C individual standings. Kramer finished with a final round of 85 for a two day total of 173. The Class C individual champion was Jackson Dunham of Kearney Catholic who finished with a two day total of 5 over par 149. The Class C team champion was Kearney Catholic with GICC claiming the team runner up trophy.
In Class A, the individual champion was Porter Topp of Omaha Westside with a low two day total of 6 under par (138). The Class A team champion was Omaha Westside who, as a team, finished at four under par with a two day team total of 572. Creighton Prep finished 2nd in Class A. In Class B, Travis Tilford of Norris and Treyton Baehr of Beatrice tied for the low two day score of even par 144. The Class B team champion was York with Norris finishing 2nd.
