Bow Spirit 18U Softball Improves to 3-1

The Broken Bow Spirit 18U softball team swept a doubleheader with Loup City Tuesday evening.  In game one, Bow scored eight runs in each of the first two innings on their way to a 16-1 win in three innings.  Lily Thornton was 2 for 2 including a home run with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI.  Ida Bumgarner was 2 for 2 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBI.  Ruby Russell also had a multi-hit game finishing 2 for 2 with 2 runs scored.  Bumgarner picked up the win in the circle giving up one run on one hit and striking out two.

In game two, Lily Thornton was perfect in the circle pitching four innings with no hits and no walks including 11 strikeouts to lead Broken Bow to an 11-0 win.  Thornton also went 2 for 2 at the plate with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  Ida Bumgarner and Alexis Pflaster each had a triple and Brielle Hamel Evans had a double to help lead the Spirit offense. The Bow Spirit improve to 3-1 on the season.
