The Broken Bow Spirit 18U softball team collected two wins on Tuesday night. The Spirit began with a dominant 16-0 win over McCook Storm 18U. Sara Howell and Ida Bumgarner combined for a no hit shutout in the three inning affair. Aubrey Hammerlun was 2 for 2 with a double, a triple, and game high 5 RBI. Brielle Hamel-Evans was 2 for 2 including an inside the park solo homerun in the second inning. Sara Howell was 2 for 2 with 4 RBI and Lily Thornton also had a multi-hit game finishing 2 for 2 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI.
The Spirit would follow that up with a 4-0 win over WNS Wildfire. Lily Thornton pitched a complete game shutout in the circle giving up just three hits and striking out three. Ruby Russell was 1 for 2 with a double and 2 RBI. Lily Thornton and Ida Bumgarner drove in the other two Broken Bow runs.
The Spirit have now won 8 of their last 9 and are now 18-15 overall.
