Bow Seniors Go 2-1 at Home Tournament

The Broken Bow American Legion seniors baseball team hosted Valentine, Overton, and St. Paul for a weekend tournament at Paul Brown Field.

Friday – Broken Bow 9, Valentine 5
The Bow seniors jumped out to a 5-1 lead after two innings, but Valentine cut the deficit to one with three runs in the top of the third. Broken Bow quickly responded with two runs in the bottom of the third and added two more in the sixth to claim a 9-5 win. Colton Uhlig had a multi-hit game finishing 2 for 4 with a run scored. Xach Lowry had a double and two runs scored and Dominic Nowak, Jackson Hall, Caenyn Priest, and Kanzas Kellum each drove in a run. Dominic Nowak pitched six innings giving up 5 runs on 5 hits and striking out 13.

Saturday – Broken Bow 14, Overton 0
Broken Bow shutout Overton 14-0 in five innings. Kanzas Kellum was 3 for 3 at the plate with three runs scored and one run batted in. Colton Uhlig, Drew Ellis, and Carter Hall each had two hits. Uhlig had two runs scored and two runs batted in. Ellis finished with three RBI. Carter Hall pitched a complete game giving up just one hit and struck out four.

Sunday – St. Paul 11, Broken Bow 1
Broken Bow closed out tournament play on Sunday against St. Paul. St. Paul jumped out early scoring four runs in the second inning and five more in the third on their way to an 11-1 win. Bow’s lone run of the game came in the fifth when Kayden Record came around to score. Broken Bow was held to four hits in the game. Collecting hits for Broken Bow were Record, Colton Uhlig, Dominic Nowak, and Carter Hall.
