Bow Seniors Fall to PWG in Mid Nebraska League Championship Game

The Broken Bow American Legion Seniors baseball team fell to Palmer/Wolbach/Greeley in the Mid Nebraska League Championship game on Monday in Palmer. Broken Bow outhit PWG 7-3 but PWG was able to take advantage of five Broken Bow errors and five walks. PWG scored an unearned run in the bottom of the third to take a 1-0 lead but then pulled away in the bottom of the fifth when they batted through the order and scored five runs to extend their lead to 6-0 on their way to a 7-0 win to claim the league championship. The Broken Bow offense was held in check by PWG’s Grant Kelly who pitched a complete game shutout scattering seven hits and striking out seven. Coy Wardyn finished 2 for 3 with a single and a double. Dominic Nowak also had a multi-hit game finishing 2 for 4. The Bow seniors are now 16-5 on the season and will travel to Milbank, South Dakota this weekend for the American Legion Baseball Centennial Classic. Broken Bow will be the Nebraska representative and will face the host team Milbank on Friday afternoon. Glenwood Post 187/Lowry Post 253 of Minnesota will face LaMoure Post 19 of North Dakota on the other side of the Bracket. The double elimination tournament continues Saturday and
concludes Sunday with the championship game.
