Area Track Teams Compete in Hershey

Several area track teams were among those that competed in Hershey on Saturday.  Sandhills/Thedford won the girls team title with 188 points and South Loup was runner-up with 150.  North Platte St. Pat’s was the boys team champion with 226 points.  Among the area highlights, Trevor Kuncl of Mullen won the boys 800 in a winning time of 2:10.28.  Sandhills/Thedford won the boys 4×100 meter relay in a time of 46.11.  South Loup won the boys 4×800 meter relay in a winning time of 9:01.7.  In the boys field event, Tad Dimmit of Sandhills Valley won the shot put with an effort of 50 feet even.  Seth Scranton of Sandhills/Thedford won the boys long jump with a winning effort of 19’8″ and also won the triple jump with an effort of 41’4.5″.

On the girls side, Sandhills/Thedford won 5 events on the day on their way to winning the team title.  Anna Clark won the girls 100 in a time of 13.66.  Dayle Haake won the 100 meter hurdles in a time of 17.64 seconds and Tenley Rasmussen won the 300 meter hurdles at 50.13 seconds.  The Lady Knights won both the 4×100 and 4×400 meter relays.  Other area highlights included Abby Stallbaumer of South Loup winning the girls discus with an effort of 115’8″ and South Loup’s Reagan Cool won the girls pole vault clearing 9’6″.  Mullen had two event champions as Callie Coble won the 3200 in a time of 13:25.54 and Peyton Paxton won the 1600 in a time of 5:55.53.
