Overton hosted its track invite on Tuesday. Among the area teams competing were Ansley/Litchfield, South Loup, Twin Loup, and SEM. Axtell claimed both the boys and girls team titles with South Loup finishing as the runner up in both team races and Twin Loup was third in both the girls and boys team standings.
Among the area highlights, Ethan Furne of South Loup won the boys long jump with a winning effort of 21′ 6.5″. Cohen Rohde of SEM was a double gold medalist winning the boys discus with a winning effort of 158′ 7″ and the boys shot put at 44′ 9″. Jade Bierman of South Loup won the girls high jump with an effort of 5’and won the girls 800 in a time of 2:36.93. Evalynn Wonch of South Loup won the girls discus with an effort of 107’1″. Dylan Pandorf of South Loup won the boys triple jump with a winning effort of 40′ 6″ and Dawson Mason of South Loup was champion in the boys pole vault clearing 11′ 6″. Claira Morgan of Twin Loup won the girls 400 in a winning time of 1:08.04. Olivia Fitzgerald of South Loup was champion in the girls 100 in a time of 13.58 and Erin Fitzgerald of South Loup won the girls 200 in a time of 27.3 seconds. Jade Bierman of South Loup won the girls 800 in a time of 2:36.93. Rilyn Schledewitz of SEM won the girls 1600 in a time of 6:02.99 and won the 3200 in a time of 13:03.76. Elijah Cool of South Loup won the boys 1600 in a time of 5:02.74 and Josiah Coleman of South Loup won the boys 3200 in a time of 11:44.58. Ava Paitz of Ansley/Litchfield won the girls 100 meter hurdles in a time of 17.74 seconds and won the 300 hurdles in a time of 52.72.
In the relays, South Loup took gold in both the boys and girls 4×100 and 4×400 meter relays.

Area athletes competed at the Midwest Track Classic hosted by Gothenburg on Tuesday. Among the area highlights, Luke Bailey of Ansley/Litchfield swept the boys hurdles winning the 110 meter hurdles in a time of 15.16 seconds and the 300 meter hurdles in a time of 40.36 and also placed third in the boys triple jump. Alex Werner of Mullen won the boys 400 in a time of 51.35 seconds. Trevor Duryea of Anselmo-Merna won the boys triple jump with a winning effort of 42′ 6″. Peyton Paxton of Mullen was runner up in both the girls 1600 and 3200. Colton Miller of Sandhills Valley placed 2nd in the boys discus and third in the shot put. Devanee Connell of Sandhills Valley was runner up in the girls triple jump. Other top three finishes from the area included Colin Wright of Anselmo-Merna third in the boys high jump and Tim Myers of Anselmo-Merna third in the boys 110 meter hurdles.
