The Bill Smith Softball Complex in Hastings will be host to the USA Softball of Nebraska Class D fastpitch state championship tournament this weekend starting Friday (7/10) and running through Sunday (7/12).
The Broken Bow Spirit 18U team will be among those competing in the 16/18U division. The Bow Spirit enter with an overall record of 12-16-1. The Spirit enter the tournament as the #5 seed and will open play Friday afternoon at 12:30 against Ponca 18U. The winner will advance out in the winner’s bracket to face the winner of Hebron vs Wausa.
Another team with area ties that will compete in this year’s 16/18U state tournament is the Fearless – Holm 18U team. Fearless is a combination of talent throughout areas of central Nebraska including representation from Ansley, Litchfield, and Sumner. Fearless – Holm 18U will open tournament play on Friday against the Oakland Rockets with the winner advancing out in the winner’s bracket to face #2 seed WNS Wildfire.
