Area Teams Compete at UNK Indoor Track Meet

The University of Nebraska at Kearney hosted its Class B/C high school indoor track and field meet on Saturday.  Some teams that were not able to compete in the Class D meet because of bad weather and travel conditions this past Thursday also joined the field.  Among the area highlights, Talli Martin of South Loup was the champion in the girls mile in a winning time of 5:47.57.  Area athletes took the top three spots in the girls 55 meter hurdles with Dayle Haake of Sandhills/Thedford placing first in a time of 9.17 seconds followed by Karley Haake of S/T in second and Charli Vickers of South Loup was third.  Other area top three finishes on the girls side included Anna Clark of Sandhills/Thedford second in the 400.  Josie Smith of SEM was second in the 3200 and Tenley Rasmussen of Sandhills/Thedford placed third in the 200 meters.

Area highlights on the boys side saw Cache Gracey of South Loup winning the boys 400 meters in a winning time of 53.4 seconds.  South Loup won the boys 4×400 meter relay.  The team of Cache Gracey, Logan Recoy, Silas Cool, ad Dylan Pandorf posted a winning time of 3:44.31.  Coby Higgins of Sandhills/Thedford won the boys triple jump with a winning effort of 41’8″.  Rio Remund of South Loup won the boys shot put with an effort of 48′ 7.5″.  Other area top three finishes included Coby Higgins of S/T third in the 200.  Silas Cool of South Loup was third in the 800.  South Loup was second in the boys 4×800 meter relay.  Maurice Robinson of Sandhills/Thedford was second in the long jump.
