Area Teams Compete at South Loup Wrestling Invite

South Loup hosted its annual wrestling invitational in Callaway on Friday. Plainview was the team champion with 176.5 points. North Platte St. Pat’s was second and Palmer finished in third. Top area finishers were South Loup placing fifth followed by Twin Loup in sixth. Among the area highlights, Dawson Mason of South Loup was champion at 138 lbs. CJ Quandt of South Loup faced Oran Grint of Twin Loup in the finals at 157 lbs. Quandt won by fall to win the championship with Grint the runner up. Maddox Jones of SEM was champion at 175 lbs. Wrestlers from the KCNI/KBBN coverage area finishing runner up in their weight class included Cazen Smith of Twin Loup 2nd at 150 lbs. and Caden Zutavern of Sandhills/Thedford runner up at 285.
