Sanhills/Thedford hosted its boys golf invitational on Thursday. Competitors fought through the cool temperatures and strong winds. Sandhills Valley was the team champion with a low team score of 368. North Platte St. Pat’s was second with a 383 and Mullen was third with a 399.
Sandhills Valley placed three golfers in the top ten individually led by Cole Kramer who was the individual champion with a low round of 84. Braden Powell and Ethan Weems each shot a 91 to finish in fifth and sixth. Brady Haake of Sandhills/Thedford and Collin Cooksley of Anselmo-Merna each shot an 86 to finish 2nd and 3rd. Others from the KCNI/KBBN coverage area that finished in the top ten included Titus Gideon of Burwell who was 8th with a 94. Aaron Bartak of Anselmo-Merna and Joey Sallach of South Loup each finished with a 95 to place 9th and 10th. The Broken Bow JV’s also competed in the meet and were led by Gavin Wright who shot a team low 103. Mullen was led by Ethan Hardin and Jacob Walker who each finished just outside the top ten with a 97.
