Area Teams Appear in Weekly OWH High School Girls Basketball Rankings

Teams in the KCNI/KBBN coverage area have another strong presence this week in the High School basketball rankings released by the Omaha World Herald. The Broken Bow girls basketball team remains in the Class C1 top ten this week. The Lady Indians hold down the #8 spot and are 9-2 on the season coming off a win over Auburn at the Girls Basketball Showcase this past Saturday. Broken Bow will host Kearney Catholic on Thursday at the Indian gym. KC is 9-3 entering the week and ranked #6 in Class C1. Anselmo-Merna moves up to #5 this week in the Class D2 girls rankings. AM is 8-4 after a thrilling overtime win against Class D1 Cross County at the Girls Basketball Showcase. Anselmo-Merna hosts Sandhills/Thedford and Central Valley this week. SEM is ranked #10 in Class D1. The Lady Mustangs suffered their first loss of the season this past Friday. SEM will play at Pleasanton January 15 and then host Anselmo-Merna next Tuesday January 18. The SEM / AM game will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and on kbbn.com.
