The NSAA district cross country championships take place today across the state as area teams and athletes will attempt to qualify for the state meet next week in Kearney. The top three teams in each district and top fifteen individuals, whether part of a team or running as an individual, will qualify for the state championships.
Broken Bow will be among the teams competing at the C-5 district meet in Ogallala at Crandall Creek Golf Course. Joining them there will be Bridgeport, Chadron, Chase County, Cozad, Gothenburg, Hershey, Holdrege, Kearney Catholic, Mitchell, Ogallala, and Sidney.
In Class D, Burwell, Sandhills/Thedford, and Twin Loup will be among the teams competing at the D-3 district meet held at the Ainsworth Municipal Golf Course. Ansley/Litchfield, Arcadia/Loup City, South Loup, and SEM will be among the teams competing at the D-5 district to be hosted by Cambridge at the Cross Creek Golf Course. The D-6 district meet will be hosted by Perkins County at the Pheasant Run Golf Course and will include Mullen and Sandhills Valley.
The 2024 NSAA state cross country championships will take place Friday, October 25th at the Kearney Country Club.
