Area Schools Recognized in 2024-2025 “Buckle Up Phone Down” Cup Final Standings

The Nebraska School Activities Association and the Nebraska Department of Transportation have announced the final standings for the “Buckle Up Phone Down Cup”, the All-Activities Award for Nebraska high schools.  The annual awards program began in the fall of 2006 to recognize the state’s most successful high school athletic and fine arts programs.  Awards are presented to the Nebraska high schools that earn the most points during the school year by participating in NSAA education-based activity programs.  Winners are determined by a point system based on performance in state championship events within each division and class.

Arnold high school finished in the top ten of Class D girls division.  Arnold achieved 80 cup points which tied them with Nebraska Christian for seventh in the division.  The Class D girls division cup champion ended in a three-way tie with Falls City Sacred Heart, Howells-Dodge and McCool Junction.  The Class D All School division cup champion was McCool Junction and the Class D boys division champion was a tie between Howells-Dodge and McCool Junction.

Gothenburg high school finished third in the Class C girls division with 182.5 cup points, was second in the Class C boys division with 142.5 points and was runner up in the Class C All School division with 240 points.  Columbus Scotus won the All School and girls division cup.  Central City was atop the cup standings for the boys division.

In Class A, Omaha Westside won the All School cup, Millard West was atop the girls division, and Lincoln East won the boys division cup.

In Class B, Omaha Skutt won the All School and boy division cup. Gretna East was at the top of the girls standings.
