Area High School Football Preview – Twin Loup vs Central Valley on KBBN / Broken Bow vs Holdrege on KCNI

It’s another big high school football Friday around the area today as teams navigate through the second half of the regular season schedule. The Twin Loup Wolves are on the road tonight to face Central Valley in Wolbach. After starting the season 0-3, the Wolves have rebounded to win their last two games against Chambers Wheeler Central and Palmer in back to back weeks. Twin Loup head coach Mike Kozeal visited with KCNI/KBBN sports this week and talked about the progression of some of the younger players and growing in their understanding of the game.

“I think it definitely has improved.  There are a bunch of kids that maybe had a lot of success in junior high and probably dominated in junior high.  Maybe some of the harder situations and game situations that maybe have come with high school they’ve struggled a little with but that’s part of the learning process.  We make those mistakes and we try to correct them and we keep trying to teach them and keep correcting them until it becomes habit.  That’s kind of maybe where we are now but we definitely are making strides in the right direction.”

Central Valley is a team that advanced to the Class D2 state quarterfinals a year ago and is highly ranked again this season.  The Cougars are 4-1 with their loss to Class D1 #1 ranked Stanton.  Tonight’s game between Central Valley and Twin Loup will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com.  Coverage begins with the Consolidated pregame show at 6 followed by the kickoff at 7.
