Broken Bow fell to Holdrege at the C1-10 girls sub district basketball tournament in Minden on Tuesday night.  Broken Bow was held to their lowest scoring total in a game this season as Holdrege held on for a 37-35 win.  Only three players scored for Broken Bow.  Halle McCaslin led the way with 19 with 17 of those coming in the first half.  Gaby Staples had 10 points in the second half and finished the game with 12 points.  Broken Bow’s leading scorer on the season, MaKinley Tobey, was held scoreless for the first three quarters and finished with four points on the night.  Broken Bow falls to 18-4 on the season but remains high in the Class C1 point standings which has them in the running for a wildcard spot and a possible berth in the district finals next week.  Meanwhile, Holdrege advances to the C1-10 sub district championship game where they will face top seed Minden who held off Kearney Catholic 34-30 to advance.

At the D2-8 sub district at Sandhills High School in Dunning, top seed Sandhills/Thedford advanced to the final with a 67-28 win over Ansley/Litchfield.  The Lady Knights were led by Dayle Haake who had a game high 29 points and in the process went over 1,000 points for her career.  Also finishing in double figures for S/T were Laney Dahlberg with 15 and Anna Clark had 10.  Ansley/Litchfield was led by Caydence Feldman who had a team high 14 points.  Sandhills/Thedford will face Anselmo-Merna for the sub district title.  The Lady Coyotes held off Central Valley 47-41.  AM was led by Lily Thornton who had a team high 11 points.  Makenna Miller also finished in double figures with 10.  The D2-8 sub district final will take place Thursday night at Sandhills High School in Dunning with tipoff scheduled for 6 p.m.  A live video stream of the game, with play by play, will be available through sandhillsexpress.com on the Sandhills Express Facebook page and You Tube channel.  The game will also be broadcast on KCNI 1280 AM / 96.3 FM, kcni1280.com, and the free KCNI Pure Country App.

At the C2-10 sub district in Ord, top seed Ord defeated Arcadia/Loup City 68-28 to advance to the sub district final on Thursday.  They will face #2 seed Ravenna who held off South Loup 57-45 to advance.

Burwell fell to North Central at the D1-8 sub district tournament 41-26.  North Central advances to play top seed St. Mary’s on Thursday night.

The Mullen Lady Broncos fell to Crawford at the D2-12 sub district tournament by a score of 36-31.  Crawford advances to play Hyannis who upset the top seed Hay Springs 37-36.

SEM advanced to the finals of the D1-10 sub district tournament.  The top seeded Lady Mustangs defeated Pleasanton 55-44.  They will host Amherst Thursday night for the sub district title.  Amherst advanced with a 48-42 win over Elm Creek.
