Sandhills/Thedford will host Twin Loup this afternoon in the KBBN area game of the week. Sandhills/Thedford opened the season with an impressive 42-0 win at Burwell but then suffered their first regular season loss since 2018 when they fell to Hitchcock County on the road last Saturday. Sandhills/Thedford will play their home opener today in Dunning. S/T coach Tyson Cox visited with KCNI/KBBN radio this week about today’s matchup and said the team has responded well this week and is focused on improving.
Twin Loup has equaled their win total from the past two years combined in the first two weeks of the season. It has been an impressive start for the Wolves with wins over Anselmo-Merna in their season opener and winning over Mullen in their home opener last week. The Twin Loup defense has been strong giving up just a total of 20 points in their first two games. Head coach Mike Kozeal told KCNI/KBBN that his team continues to grow in confidence.
Today’s game will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. Coverage begins with the Consolidated pregame show at 2 p.m.
