Burwell hosted its 4k cross country invitational on Thursday. North Central was the girls team champion. West Holt finished second, South Loup was third, and Burwell placed fourth. Maddie Davis of West Holt was the girls individual champion in a winning time of 17:01. Several from the KCNI/KBBN coverage area finished in the top ten. Jymmie Jensen of Burwell was 3rd (17:50), Josie Smith of SEM was 5th (18:19), Ivy Tullis of South Loup was 6th (18:27), Ella Cool of South Loup was 8th (18:49), Heidi Donegan of South Loup was 10th (19:02). The boys team championship went to West Holt and North Central was the runner-up. The boys individual champion was Raden Orton of North Central in a time of 13:58. Among the area highlights, Logan Recoy of South Loup finished in the top ten placing 6th in a time of 15:39 and Greyden Anderson of SEM was 8th in a time of 15:46.
Arcadia/Loup City was among the teams that competed Thursday at the St. Paul Cross Country Invitational. The boys team champion was St. Paul with Nebraska Christian finishing runner-up. Arcadia/Loup City placed 5th in the boys team standings. St. Paul’s Conner Wells was the boys individual champion in a winning time of 15:55. Ty Greenland of Arcadia/Loup City placed fifth overall in a time of 17:41. Nebraska Christian was the girls team champion with Fullerton finishing 2nd. Hannah Swanson of Nebraska Christian was the girls individual champion with a winning time of 18:57. Katie Heyen of ALC finished in the top ten placing 8th overall in a time of 23:46.
