Ainsworth hosted its annual cross country invite on Thursday. The boys team champion was Boyd County followed by Ord in second. The boys individual champion was Will Nelson of Boyd County in a winning time of 18:31.26. Among the area highlights, Connor Sutton of Sandhills/Thedford finished third in the boys standings in a time of 18:52.65. Everett Funk of Twin Loup finished in the top 15 finishing 14th (20:23.77) JJ Maynard of Burwell finished in the top 20 placing 17th (20:48.44). The girls team champion was Ainsworth followed by West Holt in second. The girls individual champion was Reagan Moody of Ainsworth in a winning time of 21:42.28. Among the area highlights, Burwell placed two runners in the top ten. Jalise Busch was 4th (22:33.42) and Lena Spencer was 6th (23:19.79).
Gibbon hosted its annual cross country invite on Thursday. Kenesaw was the boys team champion followed by Wood River in second. Among the area highlights, Dutch Miller of Arcadia/Loup City was the boys individual champion in a winning time of 17:54.04. The girls team champion was Central City followed by Elm Creek in second. The girls individual champion was Amelia Buhlke of Central City in a winning time of 21:34.5. Among the area highlights, Bayler Clay of Ansley/Litchfield finished 15th (25:19.11) in the girls standings.
