Area Cross Country Results – Broken Bow Boys 2nd and Bow Girls 4th at North Platte Invite

The Broken Bow cross country teams began their season Saturday at the North Platte Invitational. The Broken Bow boys finished 2nd just 4 points behind champion North Platte. Broken Bow’s Daine Wardyn placed 2nd in a time of 17:14.53. The boys champion was Evan Caudy of North Platte (16:41.46). Bow had four runners place in the top ten. Jesse Gallian was 6th (17:59.50), Noah Osmond was 8th (18:12.03), and Brock Oeltjen placed 9th (18:12.91). Also placing in the top 20 were Trey Hurlburt (14th) and Coy Wardyn (19th). On the girls side, Broken Bow placed 4th. The team champion was North Platte. The girls individual champion was Lindee Henning of Ogallala in a time of (19:33.15). Makinley Tobey led Broken Bow finishing 10th (21:23.30). Placing in the top 20 for Broken Bow were Cassidy Schweitzer 19th (23:32.80) and Gracie Hackel (23:59.43).

NORTH PLATTE INVITE RESULTS

Back on Thursday (8/26), Mullen cross country competed at the Panhandle Classic in Scottsbluff. Mullen’s Trevor Kuncl placed third in the boys race with a time of 17:36.48. The meet was won by Cameron Brauer of Sidney in a time of 17:07.62. Mullen freshman Peyton Paxton won the girls race in a winning time of 20:38.84. Callie Coble of Mullen was 6th in the girls race in a time of 22:02.11.
