The Broken Bow girls and boys basketball teams will tip off their seasons tonight when they travel to Holdrege. Keaton Klimek enters his first year as Broken Bow boys head basketball coach. Speaking at the Broken Bow Athletic Booster Club winter sports tip off event, Klimek talked about transitioning into the role and shared what has impressed him most so far about this year’s team.
“Their competitive spirit for sure. That’s the first thing that sticks out to me. I’m a competitive guy and they haven’t really had to bring that out of me as much for me to get that out of them because one day we had nine kids diving on the floor for loose balls. We’ve talked about that but it’s another thing to actually do it at practice and to fly around and want the ball more than anyone else. That’s one thing that has really stuck out to me.”
Tonight’s games between Broken Bow and Holdrege will be broadcast on KCNI 96.3 FM and kcni1280.com. The girls varsity game is scheduled to tip off at 6 p.m. with the boys game to follow.
South Loup will host Twin Loup tonight for a girls and boys basketball doubleheader in Callaway. Tonight’s games will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com.
