The Omaha World Herald and Lincoln Journal Star released its all state basketball selections for the 2024-2025 season on Sunday. Luke Bailey of Ansley/Litchfield was a Class D2 boys first team selection by both publications. The Ansley/Litchfield senior had an outstanding season averaging a double double for the season with 23.8 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. Joining Bailey on the D2 boys first team were Gage Hedstrom of St. Mary’s (O’Neill), Jarek Erickson of EPPJ, Kane Wetovick of Fullerton, and Matthew Schindler of Wausa. Noah Shoemaker of Cozad was a Class C1 second team selection by both publications. Shoemaker averaged 14 points and 6 rebounds per game this season helping lead the Haymakers to a state tournament appearance.
Makenna Miller of Anselmo-Merna was a Class D2 girls first team selection by the Lincoln Journal Star and a second team selection by the Omaha World Herald. Miller helped lead the Lady Coyotes to a state tournament appearance this past season averaging 14.4 points and 5.8 assists per game. Alex Beveridge of Gothenburg was a Class C1 second team selection by both publications averaging 13 points and 5 rebounds per game this season for the Swedes.
