The Nebraska Schools Activities Association sponsored its first sanctioned girls wrestling district tournaments this past weekend. According to the NSAA website, the top three from each district qualify for the NSAA state championships. Four district meets were held across the state. The district 3 meet was held in Gothenburg. Lila Bloomer of South Loup qualified for state finishing 2nd at 185 lbs. Bloomer is 20-2 on the season. Jocelyn Ambriz of Ansley/Litchfield qualified at 165 lbs. Ambriz won by fall in the third place match to advance to state. Shania Wear of Gothenburg was runner-up at 114 lbs. to qualify for state. Aubree Stutzman of South Loup just missed qualifying for state. Stutzman dropped a 6-4 decision in the third place match at 100 lbs. to finish 4th overall. Others from the KCNI/KBBN coverage area who medaled at districts but fell one spot short of qualifying for state included: Marianne Zuniga of Sandhills Valley who was 4th at 107 lbs. Isabelle Zuniga of Sandhills Valley placed 4th at 138 lbs.

Kylie Jerabek of Arcadia/Loup City competed at the district 4 meet at Amherst and was one spot away from qualifying for state.  Jerabek placed 4th at 165 lbs.
