Area Athletes Named to OWH All State Football Teams

The Omaha World Herald released its all state football selections on Sunday. Broken Bow’s Connor Wells was named to the all state Class C1 all defensive team. Wells had an outstanding senior season for the Indians on both sides of the ball. Wells finished the season as Broken Bow’s leading tackler and leading rusher helping the Indians to a district title and a state playoff appearance. Also named to the Class C1 all defensive team was Eli Boryca of Cozad. SEM landed two players on the all state six man team. Noah Eggleston was named to the all six man offensive team at quarterback. Eggleston helped lead SEM to an undefeated regular season and a state semifinal appearance. According to maxpreps.com, Eggleston ended the season with 1701 passing yards and 37 passing touchdowns. Jayson Guthard of SEM was also named to the all six man team as punter and kicker.
