Burwell hosted it’s cross country invitational on Thursday. West Holt won the girls team championship with South Loup finishing as the runner-up and Burwell was third. The girls individual champion was Delani Runnels of Niobrara-Verdigre in a winning time of 16:14.45. South Loup placed two in the top ten. Ella Cool was third in a time of 18:11.51 and Ivy Tullis placed 7th in a time of 19:23.24. Rilynn Schletewitz of SEM was 5th overall in a time of 18:40.66 and Lena Spencer of Burwell finished in the top ten placing 6th in a time of 18:48.79.
West Holt won the boys team title with South Loup finishing 2nd. Drew Martin of West Holt was the boys individual champion in a winning time of 14:16.02. South Loup placed two runners in the top five. Logan Recoy was third in a time of 14:49.17 and Josiah Coleman of South Loup was 4th in a time of 15:23.88. Connor Sutton of Sandhills/Thedford finished in the top ten placing 6th in a time of 15:52.24 and William Beattie of SEM was 9th in a time of 16:26.78 and Everett Funk of Twin Loup was 10th in a time of 16:29.33. Others from the area in the top 15 included Brodie Stengel of Sandhills/Thedford (11th) and Walter Bierman of South Loup (12th).
