Area athletes will compete today at the NSAA state cross country championships at the Kearney Country Club. The Class D boys race starts the day at Noon today. Among the area athletes who qualified for the Class D boys competition and are scheduled to compete today include Logan Recoy of South Loup, Ty Greenland of Arcadia/Loup City, and Kyle Finney of Mullen. Sandhills Valley qualified as a team. Scheduled to represent the Mavericks today are Jared Trimble, Colin Rooney, Keith Morash, Steven Cain, and Ethan Weems.
The Class C boys race is scheduled for 12:30 today. The Broken Bow boys qualified as a team by placing 2nd at the C-5 district meet at Ogallala. Scheduled to represent the Indians today are Noah Osmond, Brock Oeltjen, Trey Hurlburt, Jackson Hansen, Tallen Harold, and Colton Kelley.
The Class D girls race is scheduled for 1 p.m. Area athletes scheduled to compete include Ella Cool and Ivy Tullis of South Loup, Peyton Paxton of Mullen, and Josie Smith of SEM. MaKinley Tobey of Broken Bow qualified for the Class C girls race which is scheduled for 1:30 today.
