Area Athletes Compete at Overton Track Invite – South Loup Claims Boys AND Girls Team Titles

Several teams within the KCNI/KBBN coverage area were among those that competed Tuesday at the Overton Track Invite. South Loup swept the team titles. South Loup won the boys team championship with 152 points followed by Twin Loup in second and Overton was third. South Loup won the girls team championship with 151 points followed by Axtell in second and Overton was third.

Among the area highlights, SEM’s Taryn Arbuthnot had a big day winning the girls high jump clearing 4′ 10″, winning the girls long jump with a winning effort of 17′ 1″ and winning the 200 in a time of 26.73 seconds. Emma Stallbaumer of South Loup won the girls discus with a winning  throw of 119′ 6″. South Loup’s Dylan Pandorf won the the boys long jump with an effort of 19′ 10.5″. Blake Bottorf of Twin Loup was the boys shot put champion with a winning effort of 44′ 2.5″. Emmet Grint of Twin Loup swept the boys hurdles winning the 110 meter hurdles in a time of 16.45 seconds and the 300 meter hurdles in a time of 41.81. Walter Bierman of South Loup won the boys 400 in a time of 56.05 seconds and also took gold in the boys 800 in a time of 2:10.86. Oran Grint of Twin Loup won the boys 100 meters in a winning time of 11.77 seconds.  Elijah Cool of South Loup won the boys 1600 in a time of 5:02.01.

In the relays, South Loup won both the girls and boys 4×800.  The team of Delanie Weinman, Chloe Coleman, Jade Bierman, and Lynae Wiese posted a winning time of 10:54.36 in the girls relay and the team of Walter Bierman, Jaden Baker, Josiah Coleman, and Elijah Cool won the boys relay in a time of 8:52.47. Twin Loup won the boys 4×100. The team of Emmet Grint, Carter Hall, Blake Bottorf, and Cooper Busch posted a winning time of 46.75 seconds. South Loup won the boys 4×400. The team of Braxton Cozad, Dylan Pandorf, Conner Paulsen, and Elijah Cool had a winning time of 3:48.27. South Loup won the girls 4×100. The team of Asa Starr, Erin Fitzgerald, Rae Hagler, and Olivia Fitzgerald posted a time of 52.98 seconds. South Loup also took gold in the girls 4×400. The team of Asa Starr, Rae Hagler, Anna Coleman, and Jade Bierman had the winning time of 4:50.36.
