Ansley/Litchfield Falls to Silver Lake in District Final

The Ansley/Litchfield Spartans boys basketball team fell to Silver Lake Saturday in the D2-8 district final played at Hastings College on Saturday.  Ansley/Litchfield could not overcome a slow start offensively as the Spartans were held scoreless in the 2nd quarter and trailed 29-5 at halftime.  Ansley/Litchfield tried to fight back scoring 32 points in the second half but Silver Lake was able to answer on their way to a 65-37 win.  Ansley/Litchfield leading scorer Luke Bailey was held to just five points and fouled out with 3:30 remaining in the third quarter.  Daevon Magner came off the bench to lead A/L in scoring with a team high nine points which all came in the second half.  Nine players scored for Silver Lake, four in double figures, led by Landon Duester who had a game high 12 points.  In spite of the loss, it was a great season for the Spartans who reached their fifth straight district final.  The Spartans conclude the season at 15-11.
