Ansley/Litchfield Falls to Maywood Hayes Center at State Tournament

Ansley/Litchfield saw its season come to an end Wednesday as they fell to Maywood Hayes Center 72-35 at the NSAA boys state basketball championships in Lincoln.  MHC led by nine at the end of the first quarter and extended the lead to 21 at halftime.  Maywood Hayes Center was led by Hayden Kramer who scored 24 points in the first half and finished with a game high 28.  Ansley/Litchfield was led by Leyton Rohde.  The senior finished with a team high 13.  The Spartans conclude the season at 19-6.  Maywood Hayes Center moves on to the Class D1 semifinals where they will face Johnson Brock who defeated Howells Dodge 56-26.  On the other side of the D1 bracket, North Platte St. Pat’s knocked off Mead 48-37.  The Irish closed the game on an 11-0 run to collect the win.  St. Pat’s will face Dundy County Stratton in the semifinals as DCS knocked off Elm Creek in double overtime 63-55.
